El impacto en la calidad de vida de mujeres con endometriosis

Abstract

RESUMEN: INTRODUCCIÓN: Este trabajo de final de grado (TFG) tiene como objetivo principal, identificar el impacto en la calidad de vida de las mujeres diagnosticadas de endometriosis y dar a conocer las terapias alternativas para complementar la mejoría de la enfermedad. Así mismo, identificar factores de riesgo o estilos de vida que contribuyen tanto al desarrollo como al empeoramiento de la enfermedad. La finalidad de este estudio es mejorar la atención proporcionada por enfermería a este tipo de pacientes, para conseguir que puedan manejar la enfermedad de la mejor manera posible. La endometriosis se caracteriza por un crecimiento benigno del endometrio fuera de la cavidad uterina generando inflamación crónica. Se asocia al dolor crónico incapacitant y es una patología altamente prevalente, con una estimación del 10% de las mujeres en edad reproductiva, con una afectación de 176 millones de mujeres a nivel mundial. Tiene síntomas multifactoriales, uno de los más importantes es la infertilidad que produce según el grado de endometriosis que se padezca.

OBJETIVO: Reducir el impacto negativo que produce la endometriosis en las mujeres que la padecen con intervenciones enfermeras y terapias alternativas.

METODOLOGÍA: En este estudio cualitativo se emplea un tipo de muestra teórica, ya que la investigación tiene como objetivo identificar el impacto en la calidad de vida con endometriosis y la aplicabilidad de terapias alternativas para la mejoría de las pacientes. Se formulará un cuestionario online a diez mujeres de la Asociación de afectadas de Endometriosis de Catalunya para conocer su experiencia y sus sentimientos.

ABSTRACT: The main objective of this final degree project (TFG) is to identify the impact on the quality of life of women diagnosed with endometriosis and to publicize alternative therapies to complement the improvement of the disease. Likewise, identify risk factors or lifestyles that contribute to both the development and worsening of the disease. The purpose of this study is to improve the care provided by nursing to this type of patients, to ensure that they can manage the disease in the best possible way. Endometriosis is characterized by a benign growth of the endometrium outside the uterine cavity, generating chronic inflammation. It is associated with chronic disabling pain and is a highly prevalent pathology, with an estimated 10% of women of reproductive age, affecting 176 million women worldwide. It has multifactorial symptoms, one of the most important is the infertility that it produces depending on the degree of endometriosis suffered.

OBJECTIVE: Reduce the negative impact that endometriosis produces on women who suffer from it with nursing interventions and alternative therapies.

METHODOLOGY: In this qualitative study, a type of theoretical sample is used, since the research aims to identify the impact on the quality of life with endometriosis and the applicability of alternative therapies for the improvement of patients. An online questionnaire will be asked to ten women from the Association of Endometriosis Affected of Catalonia to find out their experience and feelings.
