Comunicació infermera en relació amb els assumptes pendents de les persones en situació de final de vida

Abstract

RESUM: El tema central del nostre treball de final de grau (TFG) és conèixer com és la comunicació infermera amb les persones en procés de final de la vida en relació amb els seus assumptes pendents. En aquest sentit, la nostra intenció és esbrinar l’impacte que té aquesta comunicació sobre les infermeres de cures pal·liatives. Acompanyar la mort a l’entorn hospitalari és una necessitat d’alta demanda d’atenció infermera i, davant les barreres comunicatives envers aquest tema, considerem important explorar el paper de la infermera en ajudar a afrontar la mort i a donar l’oportunitat de preparar-se per a ella, sense oblidar la rellevància de l’atenció espiritual.

OBJECTIU GENERAL: Conèixer com és la comunicació infermera amb les persones en situació de final de vida en relació amb els seus assumptes pendents.

METODOLOGIA: Estudi d’anàlisis qualitatiu d’enfocament fenomenològic realitzat en una població d’infermeres del servei i/o unitat de cures pal·liatives de l’Institut Català d’Oncologia (ICO), amb tipus de mostreig intencional sota els criteris de selecció de participants establerts. Els criteris d’inclusió són: treballar o haver treballat al servei i/o unitat de pal·liatius, participació voluntària amb la signatura del consentiment informat i experiència laboral dins del servei i/o unitat superior a un any. I els criteris d’exclusió són: signatura de la no conformitat a la participació de l’estudi, barrera idiomàtica existent o procés de dol actiu. És un treball que segueix l’estructura estandarditzada en protocols d’investigació qualitativa respectant els criteris de rigor de qualitat com la confiabilitat. La recollida de dades es realitza mitjançant tècnica conversacional amb entrevistes semi-estructurades individuals i un diari de camp; i per l’anàlisi de dades s’utilitza com a suport informàtic el programa NVivo pel tractament, organització i transcripció dels resultats.

ABSTRACT: The central theme of our end-of-degree work (TFG) is to know what nursing communication is like with people in the end-of-life process in relation to their unfinished business. In this sense, our intention is to find out the impact this communication has on palliative care nurses. Accompanying death in the hospital environment is a need of high demand for nursing care and, given the communication barriers regarding this topic, we consider it important to explore the role of the nurse in helping to face death and giving the opportunity to prepare for her, without forgetting the relevance of spiritual attention.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Know how nurses communicate with people at the end of life in relation to their unfinished business.

METHODOLOGY: Qualitative analysis study with a phenomenological approach carried out in a population of nurses from the service and/or palliative care unit of the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), with intentional sampling type under the selection criteria of established participants. The inclusion criteria are: working or having worked in the palliative care service and/or unit, voluntary participation with the signature of informed consent and work experience within the service and/or unit of more than one year. The exclusion criteria are: signature of non-conformity to participation in the study, existing Language barrier or active grief process. It is a study that follows the standardized structure in qualitative research protocols respecting the criteria of quality rigor such as reliability. Data collection is carried out using a conversational technique with individual semi-structured interviews and a field diary; and for data analysis, the NVivo program is used as computer support for the treatment, organization and transcription of the results.
