Estudio cualitativo: análisis de la actitud y el estigma enfermero ante un paciente con alcoholismo

Abstract

RESUMEN: En los últimos años, el consumo y abuso de alcohol han aumentado y se han convertido en un problema de salud pública. Esto ha provocado un aumento en la demanda de servicios de atención sanitaria por parte de este tipo de pacientes. Los profesionales de enfermería desempeñan un papel importante en la atención al paciente alcohólico y es por ello por lo que deben estar preparados para su asistencia. La evidencia científica consultada coincide en el desconocimiento que enfermería posee sobre este tipo de paciente, ya sea por inexperiencia o falta de formación.

OBJETIVO: Analizar las actitudes expresadas y estigma por parte de los enfermeros y técnicos de enfermería de una unidad de salud mental hacia el paciente alcohólico y el cuidado que se les presta. Reclutamiento y accesibilidad de la muestra: Supervisión de enfermería informará al personal sobre el estudio voluntario.

MÉTODO: Diseño cualitativo fenomenológico. Se ha elaborado una entrevista semiestructurada que responderán los participantes en grupos reducidos de 10 personas que trabajan en la unidad de salud mental del Hospital de San Rafael. Se hará en grupos reducidos para garantizar un clima de confianza entre los participantes y crear un ambiente más colaborativo y respetuoso. Muestreo intencional del personal hasta saturación de discurso como criterios de elegibilidad. Los datos recogidos se analizarán en dos fases, la primera fase será la del procesamiento de datos a través de “Verbatim” y la segunda fase con “Atlas-ti”, permitiendo el análisis cualitativo de los datos y organizando la información.

ABSTRACT: In the last few years, the use and abuse of alcohol has increased which has lead to a public health crisis. This has risen to a demanding health service to care for these patients. Nursing professionals play on important role alcoholic patients, for that reason they must be prepared to assist them. After bibliographic research it was clear a lack of knowledge of alcoholic patients was found, which triggers negative attitudes on staff, because of inexperience.

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of the present study is to analyze the attitudes expressed or stigmatized by nurses and, group nursing technicians towards alcoholic patients and the care given to them. Recruitment and accessibility of the sample: Nursing supervision will inform the staff about the voluntary study.

METHOD: Phenomenological qualitative design. A semi-structured interview has been developed that the participants will answer in small groups of 10 people who work in the mental health unit of the San Rafael Hospital. It will be done in small groups to guarantee a climate of trust among participants and create a more collaborative and respectful environment. Purposive sampling of staff to speech saturation as eligibility criteria. The data collected will be analyzed in two phases, the first phase will be through “Verbatim” and the second phase with “Atlas-ti”, allowing qualitative analysis of the data and organizing the information.
