T: INTRODUCTION: perioperative hypothermia is one of the most common complications in patients undergoing colorectal surgery. A decrease in body temperature during the surgical process may lead to an increased risk of surgical site infection (SSI), coagulation disorders, cardiovascular complications, alterations in vital signs, and delayed postoperative recovery. Therefore, optimal control of thermoregulation throughout the entire surgical process is essential. The incorporation of new technologies, such as a digital application (APP), may contribute to improved monitoring and control of the patient’s body temperature, while also helping to prevent adverse effects associated with inadequate thermoregulation. OBJECTIVES: to analyze the effectiveness of a digital tool for the management of thermoregulation in patients undergoing colorectal surgery compared to standard clinical practice. METHODOLOGY: a quasi-experimental, non-randomized study is planned, including two groups: an intervention group in which the digital tool will be applied, and a control group receiving standard care. Data will be collected during the three phases of the surgical process. Additionally, patients’ clinical characteristics will be recorded through medical records, along with the warming measures applied and any potential complications. RESULTS: the implementation of the digital tool is expected to improve the monitoring of body temperature and increase adherence to thermoregulation measures. It may also help identify clinical factors associated with poor thermoregulation. CONCLUSION: this study aims to positively contribute to the quality and continuity of nursing care in the surgical setting, improving patient safety and establishing clear clinical guidelines for practice.en
