| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Prematurity is associated with pulmonary and neurological immaturity, which increases the
risk of respiratory disorders and psychomotor developmental delay. Although conventional
physical therapy has demonstrated benefits in this population, evidence regarding its
combination with respiratory physical therapy remains limited. Therefore, the objective of
this study is to evaluate the effect of early multimodal intervention combining respiratory
physical therapy with conventional therapy versus conventional therapy alone on
psychomotor development in preterm infants with respiratory pathology.
A randomized, triple-blind clinical trial is proposed, with a sample of 80 preterm infants born
between 28 and 32 weeks of gestation. Participants will be assigned to an intervention group,
which will receive respiratory physical therapy along with conventional therapy, or to a
control group, which will receive only conventional therapy. The intervention will last 10
weeks, with three weekly sessions. The primary outcomes will be assessed using the
Bayley-III scale for Psychomotor development and the Silverman-Anderson scale for
respiratory function, along with physiological parameters.
The study will be conducted between 2025 and 2027 in several phases: literature review,
protocol design, ethical approval, recruitment, intervention, data analysis, and dissemination
of results. The combined intervention is expected to improve psychomotor development by
optimizing respiratory function and physiological stability, thereby promoting cerebral
oxygenation and participation in therapy. This approach could provide relevant evidence for
optimizing early intervention in preterm infants. | es_ES |
