Arte Terapia en pacientes adultos con cáncer

Abstract

La creatividad es una cualidad innata y universal, capaz de expresar el consciente y el inconsciente de las personas. El Arte Terapia (AT) basa sus intervenciones en la creencia de que existe una asociación entre el proceso de creación artístico y el bienestar general y la calidad de vida de las personas. En el caso del cáncer, una de las patologías más prevalentes del S. XXI, es habitual que las personas sufran un conjunto de síntomas psicosociales, emocionales y espirituales que deben ser correctamente diagnosticados, evaluados y tratados. Según las investigaciones realizadas hasta el momento se han descubierto múltiples beneficios derivados del uso de AT en pacientes adultos con cáncer: favorece el control y la expresión emocional, refuerza los pensamientos positivos, fomenta las habilidades del paciente, aumenta la capacidad de adaptación ante situaciones difíciles, facilita el desarrollo de nuevas habilidades sociales y mejora el estado de salud general y la calidad de vida del paciente. Este trabajo presenta una revisión bibliográfica sobre el uso del AT en pacientes adultos con cáncer. Analiza la eficacia del AT en las dimensiones psicosocial, emocional y espiritual del paciente; identifica sus características principales; especifica los distintos tipos de modalidades que existen; explica la relación existente entre los distintos elementos del triángulo terapéutico; determina cual es el rol de enfermería con respecto a este tipo de terapias y propone incluir el arte terapia en la práctica enfermera; y finalmente describe cual es la situación actual del AT en el estado Español.

Creativity is an inborn and universal quality, can explain the conscious and unconscious of people. The Art Therapy (AT) based his interventions in the creed about a nexus between the artistic process, the quality of live and wellness. In the specific case of cancer, one of most relevant pathology in the 21th century, it’s common in cancer patients suffer psycho-social, emotional and spiritual which shall diagnosed, appraised and treated. Based in investigations realized until now, this labor’s discover lots of benefits derivate to AT praxis in adults with cancer: it favors the control of emotional expressions, strengths positive thoughts, encourage the abilities of the patient, increase adaptation to hypothetical difficult situations, rise new social abilities and improve the wellness. This paper presents a biographical revision of investigations which studies the dimension of AT actions in grown-up people with cancer. It analyze the efficiency of AT’s in dimensions of psycho-social, emotional and spirituality of the patient; identifies the principal specifications; specify the different types of modalities existing between the different types of the triangle therapeutic; determines the role of the nursing with respect to this type of therapies and proposed to include the art therapy in the nursing practice; and finally describes the actual situation of the AT’s in the Spanish state.
