Enfermedad de Crohn y cuidados de enfermería

Abstract

La Enfermedad de Crohn (EC) representa una de las principales expresiones clínicas de las Enfermedades Inflamatorias Intestinales (EII). Ésta ha aumentado en las últimas décadas y puede debutar a cualquier edad sin predominio claro de sexo. La EC produce una inflamación a nivel del intestino y la patología se determina por una fase de remisión de la enfermedad y una fase activa, los denominados brotes. Como consecuencia, puede haber manifestaciones intestinales y extraintestinales. La enfermería tiene una gran implicación en los cuidados del enfermo con EC. La implementación en esta área de un protocolo de acogida es aconsejable para mejorar la calidad asistencial del paciente, pudiendo, el paciente y la familia, afrontar el nuevo diagnóstico y promover una actitud proactiva del paciente en el cuidado de su enfermedad crónica.

Crohn’s disease (CD) is one of the main expressions clinics Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). This has spread during the last decades and it can debut any age without predominance of the gender. The EC produces inflammation in the intestine and it’s pathology is determined by a period of disease remission and active phase, we know it as outbreak. In consequence, there may be intestinal extraintestinal manifestations. It is advisable to create a protocol in the implementation in this area, just to improve patient’s care quality, begin able for the patient and family y to face the new diagnosis, and promote a proactive attitude from the patient regarding his chronic disease care.
