Implementación de los cuidados centrados en el desarrollo para disminuir el dolor en el prematuro durante los procedimientos de cuidados

Abstract

El interés en disminuir el dolor en los prematuros durante las diferentes intervenciones hospitalarias a las que son sometidos ha cobrado importancia recientemente en el área de neonatología. Esto es debido a los recientes avances en el conocimiento del impacto negativo que pueda tener en el posterior desarrollo del niño. Por lo tanto se ha incrementado el interés en implementar los Cuidados Centrados en el Desarrollo (CCD) en las Unidades de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales, en el cual los procesos se adaptan a las necesidades del prematuro. En este estudio se propone un experimento para evaluar el impacto que tienen los CCD en el dolor que padecen los prematuros durante los diferentes procedimientos invasivos. La escala que se utilizará para cuantificar el grado de dolor será: Perfil del Dolor en Niños Prematuros “Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP)”. Además se valorará la influencia de otras variables circunstanciales (luz, ruido, peso, tiempo…) en la sensación de dolor en el niño.

The interest in reduce the pain in the premature babies during the hospital interventions has recently emerged in the neonatology field. This is mainly due to different studies demonstrating the negative impact that has the pain in the child development. Recently, it can be noted an increase of the interest in implementing the Intensive Care Neonatal Units the Cares Centered in Development (CCD) in which the hospital processes are adapted to the necessities of the premature baby. The experiment proposed in this study is focused on the evaluation of the impact of the CCD in the pain of premature children when subjected to different invasive procedures. The scale employed to assess the pain level is the Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP). Additionally, the influence of other variables in the child pain sensation will be evaluated
