Efectividad de las intervenciones de arteterapia en niños diagnosticados de Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Revisión crítica de la literatura

Abstract

En los últimos 15 años se ha producido un incremento de la prevalencia del Trastorno del Espectro Autista. Debido a este aumento nace la necesidad de buscar terapias alternativas que mejoren la calidad de vida de los niños. Desde esta perspectiva el arteterapia se presenta como un método comunicativo y alternativo que a su vez mejora las habilidades sociales. OBJETIVOS. Profundizar sobre las intervenciones arteterapéuticas que se llevan a cabo, encontrar la mejor evidencia posible sobre la efectividad de esta técnica a nivel comunicativo y social e identificar el papel de enfermería en este ámbito. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO. Se realiza una revisión crítica de la literatura de los últimos 10 años. Se formuló la pregunta en base a la estratégica PICO y la búsqueda fue en las bases de datos Pubmed, CINAHL, WOK, BVS usando palabras descriptoras en DeCS/Mesh. Criterios de inclusión: abstract disponible, tema adecuado al objeto del estudio, nivel de evidencia igual o superior a 2 según el JBI y disponibilidad del artículo completo. RESULTADOS. Se seleccionan 6 estudios cuasiexperimentales con un nivel de evidencia 2 y un grado de recomendación B, basados en las terapias a través de las artes plásticas. DISCUSIÓN. Se observaron resultados positivos y diferencias significativas en algunas de las áreas afectadas de los niños. Sin embargo, debido a la variedad en las muestras estos resultados pueden estar influenciados por otras variables. CONCLUSIONES. El arteterapia es una terapia coadyuvante que mejora las habilidades sociales y comunicativas y que permite la creación del vínculo paciente-terapeuta. Enfermería está capacitada para desarrollar estas intervenciones y pueden usarlas como herramienta comunicativa en otros ámbitos

In the last 15 years an increase of the prevalence with the Autism Spectrum Disorder has occurred. Because of this increase comes the need to find alternative therapies that will improve the quality of life of children. From this perspective, art therapy is presented as an alternative method of communication and in turn improves social skills. OBJECTIVES. Deepening on art therapy interventions carries out to find the best possible evidence on the effectiveness of this technique to communicative and social level and identify the role of nursing in this area. Method. This one is a critical literature review of last 10 years. The question was formulated based on the strategic PICO and the search was on the databases Pubmed, CINAHL, WOK, BVS using descriptive words in DeCS / Mesh. Inclusion criteria: abstract available, subject appropriate with the object of study, evidence level 2 or above according to the JBI and availability of the full article. RESULTS. Six quasi-experimental studies with evidence level 2 and a grade B recommendation, based therapies through the arts are selected. DISCUSSION. Positive results and significant differences were observed in some of the affected areas of the children. Nevertheless, due to the variety in the samples these results can be influenced by other variables. CONCLUSIONS. The art therapy is a helping therapy that improves the social and communicative skills and allows the creation of the link between patient and therapist. Nursing is qualified to develop these interventions and they can use them as communicative tool in other areas.
