Pla d’actuació d’hipoteràpia en infants amb Síndrome d’Angelman

Abstract

La hipoteràpia és una teràpia complementària a altres tècniques de rehabilitació. En ella, s’utilitza el moviment del cavall aportant beneficis físics, psicològics i socials al genet. És una activitat lúdica, que es realitza a l’aire lliure, en contacte amb un animal i en un entorn que es distingeix de l’àmbit clínic habitual, per aquest motiu està molt indicada per treballar amb nens. Una de les patologies que està indicada per aquesta teràpia és la Síndrome d’Angelman, un trastorn genètic que s’inicia en la infància i està causat per diferents processos que provoquen una afectació a nivell del cromosoma 15 matern. Les característiques principals que presenten els infants amb la patologia són un retard mental sever, un llenguatge verbal no adquirit, trastorn motor, trets físics característics i un patró conductual típic. L’objectiu principal d’aquest treball és l’elaboració d’un pla d’actuació d’hipoteràpia pels infants amb aquesta patologia, ja que considerem que per les característiques que presenten, es poden obtenir resultats beneficiosos. Es proposa la creació d’una escala per valorar i classificar els infants segons el grau d’afectació que presentin.

The use of Equine-Assisted Therapies (EATs) is complementary to other rehabilitation techniques. EAT takes advantage of the horse movements to promote physical, psychological and social benefits for rider. Being a ludic activity, performed outdoors, in contact with an animal and in an environment far from the usual clinical setting, makes it very suitable for working with children. Angelman Syndrome (AS) is one of the diseases that can be treated with Equine-assisted therapies. AS is a genetic disorder developed during childhood which causes, through different processes, defects on the maternal chromosome 15. The main features presented by the children affected with this disorder are a severe mental delay, a lack of spoken language, motor disabilities, characteristic physical features and a typical behaviour pattern. The objective of this work is the development of an action plan to treat children with AS using EATs, what can provide beneficial outcomes considering their symptoms. We propose a scale for the assessment of how serious is the disease.
