Proyecto de guía de práctica clínica para la prevención y paliación de los efectos adversos de los tratamientos antineoplásicos en el sistema tegumentario

Abstract

El cáncer es una enfermedad provocada por la división continua de células anormales con el objetivo de invadir otros tejidos y diseminarse por otras partes del organismo. Los tratamientos para combatir las enfermedades neoplásicas tienen como objetivo erradicar todas las células tumorales del organismo, los cuales causan unos efectos adversos añadidos a los individuos, y en consecuencia un descenso en su calidad de vida. Dentro de los diferentes efectos adversos, las alteraciones sobre sistema tegumentario causan al individuo un gran disconfort, tanto físico como psicológico, que hacen alterar todo su equilibrio biopsicosocial. Enfermería es la encargada de realizar los cuidados pertinentes para corregir ese desequilibrio mediante la prevención y paliación de estos efectos adversos y así, colaborar en la recuperación y mejora del paciente. Este proyecto de guía de práctica clínica unifica todas las actividades de enfermería destinadas a tratar las alteraciones en la piel secundarias a los tratamientos contra el cáncer. Se discute la importancia de realizar este proyecto ya que su implementación pretende conseguir el aumento de la calidad de vida de los pacientes, facilitar a los profesionales de enfermería una herramienta para el cuidado de estas alteraciones y garantizar el cumplimiento del tratamiento. La metodología correspondiente para realizar este proyecto de guía de práctica clínica (PGPC) está basada en la evidencia científica. Así, se elaborarán las recomendaciones mediante la metodología PICO.

Cancer is an illness provoked by the continuous division of anomalous cells with the aim of invading and spreading among other parts of the organism. Treatments against neoplastic illnesses have as a common goal to eradicate all tumor cells, but with the counterpart of including negative effects on the treated people which end up diminishing their life quality. With in all adverse effects on people, alteration of the integumentary 4 system cause great discomfort, both physical and psychological, which alter all their biopsychosocial equilibrium. Nursing, with in the hospital context, must be the one to assure the appropriate care to compensate this imbalance using prevention and mitigation of these adverse effects, collaborating in the recovery and improvement of the patient. This clinical practice draft unifies all nursing activities addressing changes in the skin due to cancer treatments. Its aim is to achieve an increasing of the patients’ quality of life and to provide nursing professionals a useful tool for taking care of these skin changes ensuring the accomplishment of the treatment. The importance of this project is being discussed, as its implementation pretends to rise the patients’ quality of life, provide a useful tool to nursing professionals to look after these alterations and guarantee the fulfillment of treatment. Methodology to realize this clinical practice guideline project (CPGP) is based on scientific evidence, which will be used to elaborate the recommendations using PICO methodology.
