Programa de salud: Motivación y preparación a los estudiantes de Bachillerato sobre el SVB

Abstract

Un 90% de las Paradas Cardiorrespiratorias (PCR) ocurren de forma extrahospitalaria, de las cuales sobreviven aproximadamente un 9,7% de las víctimas que la sufren. La atención a la PCR ha de ser dentro de los primeros 5 minutos desde que ocurre la parada, ya que cada minuto que pasa, la supervivencia de la víctima disminuye un 10%. Esta atención debe incluir las técnicas de SVB que, debido al lugar en que ocurren la mayoría de PCR y al tiempo que pasa entre que ocurre el suceso hasta que los servicios de emergencias acuden al lugar y comienzan técnicas de Soporte Vital Avanzado, el cual se estima entre 8 y 11 minutos en la mayoría de ocasiones, han de ser atendidas en un primer momento por las personas que se encuentren en el lugar del suceso. A pesar de ello, solamente 1 de cada 5 víctimas de una PCR extrahospitalaria es atendida adecuadamente y consigue sobrevivir. Por este motivo, hay que instruir a la población lega en SVB, y para hacerlo de forma más eficaz hay que comenzar por los jóvenes, quienes tienen una mayor capacidad para aprender, más tiempo para ello y muestran una mayor predisposición. El instituto escogido para realizar el programa de salud es el IES Vacarisses, en el Vallés Occidental, y la población escogida son los estudiantes de primero y segundo de Bachillerato.

A 90% of Cardio respiratory Arrests happen outside medical centers, and only 9’7% of these patients get over it. The medical attention to a Cardio respiratory arrest must be done within the 5 minutes from the moment it happens, because every single minute going by means 10% less chances to survive. This attention must include the Basic Life Support (BLS), which has to be done by people who are just in the place where the arrest happens, due to the fact that emergency services need at least 8 to 11 minutes to get there and begin the Advanced Life Support (ALS). Still, only 1 of each 5 victims who suffer from a Cardio respiratory Arrest far away from a medical center are properly attended and get to survive. That’s why people –non-health-care professionals- should be trained in BLS, and the best we can do is beginning with young people, as students, who have more abilities to learn, more time and show much more predisposition to do it. The chosen High School to begin the health program is the IES Vacarisses, in the Vallés Occidental. The students chosen for this program are those who attend the first and second course at High School.
