Programa de Salud dirigido a cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos en fase terminal cuidados en domicilio en Santa Coloma de Gramanet

Abstract

En Santa Coloma de Gramanet, al igual que en el resto de España, el cáncer como enfermedad terminal provoca diversos cambios físicos y emocionales en el paciente y en los familiares. La atención de estos enfermos da lugar a los Cuidados Paliativos. Muchos de estos cuidados son llevados a cabo dentro del domicilio del propio paciente por un cuidador informal que se preocupara del bienestar durante el proceso de final de vida de su familiar enfermo. Pero esta atención integral al enfermo provoca grandes cambios en el cuidador, provocando un aumento de sobrecarga del cuidador. El instrumento de medida utilizado para medir la sobrecarga de los participantes será la Escala Zarit de Cuidador, otros instrumentos utilizados para los enfermos con cáncer serán el índice de Barthel y el índice de Karnofsky. El objetivo del Programa de Salud dirigido a cuidadores de pacientes oncológicos en fase terminal cuidados en domicilio en Santa Coloma de Gramanet, es disminuir la sobrecarga de los cuidadores a través de la participación en las intervenciones educativas. Estas intervenciones serán distribuidas en seis sesiones educativas formadas por grupos de 12 cuidadores cada una. La evaluación del programa de salud se realizará a través de un proceso dinámico que cubrirá todas las etapas del programa, mediante tres tipos de evaluaciones que será de proceso, impacto y resultados.

In Santa Coloma de Gramanet, like in the rest of Spain, the cancer as terminal illness provokes diverse physical and emotional changes in the patient and in the family. The attention of these patients gives place to the Palliative Care. Many of these cares are carried out inside the domicile of the own patient by an informal keeper who is going to take care about the well-being during the process of end of life of his sick relative. But this integral attention to the patient provokes big changes in the keeper, provoking an increase of overload of the keeper. The instrument of measure used to measure the overload of the participants will be the Scale Keeper's Zarit, other instruments used for the patients with cancer will be Barthel's index and Karnofsky's index. The aim of the Program of Health directed to the keepers of cancer patients in terminal phase taken care in domicile in Santa Coloma de Gramanet is to diminish the overload of the keepers through the participation in the educational interventions; these interventions will be distributed in six educational meetings formed by groups of 12 keepers each one. The evaluation of the program of health will be realized through a dynamic process that will cover all the stages of the program, by means of three types of evaluations that will be process, impact and results.
