Projecte d’investigació: Com afronten els estudiants d’infermeria els erros de medicació?

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓ: Els errors de medicació són definits com qualsevol incident previsible que pot causar dany al pacient o donar lloc a una utilització inapropiada dels medicaments quan aquest estan sota el control dels estudiants, professionals sanitaris o del pacient. A Espanya el 9,3% dels pacients ingressats pateixen un efecte advers relacionat amb l’assistència sanitària. OBJECTIU: Determinar com viu l’estudiant els errors de medicació durant les pràctiques d’infermeria, identificar els elements que puguin ajudar a disminuir l’angoixa i mal estar i generar informació sobre les perspectives i comportaments. DISSENY: Fase 1, estudi quantitatiu descriptiu transversal, on la notificació d’errors i estratègies de superació que han posat en pràctica els estudiants d’infermeria, es farà mitjançant un qüestionari adaptat. Fase 2, estudi qualitatiu interpretatiu on a través d’uns focus grups s’aprofundirà en les vivències dels estudiants respecte els errors de medicació durant les pràctiques d’infermeria. ÀMBIT: Escola Universitàries Gimbernat i Tomàs Cerdà - UAB Subjectes: Fase 1 inclou els estudiants dels 4 cursos d’infermeria, amb mostra aproximada de 464 persones. Fase 2 mostreig intencional i raonat on s’escolliran aquells estudiants que la investigadora consideri amb les característiques necessàries per participar, així que la mostra estarà formada per 4 grups de 12 estudiants cadascun. RESULTATS: S’han obtingut un total de 6 respostes al qüestionari. Aquestes les considerem com ha proba pilot, ens permetran valorar la claredat i comprensió de les preguntes formulades i la càrrega de la resposta – temps per respondre el qüestionari. ANÀLISI: Els estudiants tenen un cert interès pel tema dels errors de medicació, s’impliquen en tot allò relacionat amb la seguretat del pacient i evitar situacions no desitjables.

BACKGROUND: Medication errors are defined as any preventable incident that could induce a risk or even compromise patient’s life and an inappropriate use of drugs when they are under the control of the students, health professionals or patients. In Spain 9, 3% of the inpatient care suffers an adverse effect related with medical care. OBJECTIVE: The aim is to determine the student experiences with medication errors during their nursing practices, identify elements that can help to reduce anxiety and poor livings and generate information about the perspectives and behaviours. DESIGN: Phase 1 sectional quantitative study, where notification of errors and improvement strategies that have implemented nursing students, will be made by an adapted questionnaire. Phase 2, qualitative interpretation study through a focus groups on understanding experiences of students regarding medication errors. FIELD: Gimbernat and Thomas Cerda College – UAB SUBJECTS: Phase 1 include the students of four courses of nursing with an approximate sample of 464 people. Phase 2 intentional and reasonable sampling where those students will be chosen by the researcher with regards of the necessary characteristics to participate, so the sample will be made by 4 groups of 12 students each. RESULTS: There were six replies to the questionnaire. These are regarded as a pilot project that will allow us to assess the clarity and understanding of the questions and the burden of response - time to answer the questionnaire. ANALYSIS: Students have a certain interest in the issue of errors medication, they are involved in everything related to patient safety and prevent undesirable situations.
