Aplicación del método madre canguro en puérperas con depresión posparto y alteración del vínculo maternofilial

Abstract

A lo largo de los años, se ha demostrado que el contacto piel con piel (CPP) que ofrece el Método madre canguro (MMC) brinda múltiples beneficios para los neonatos, siendo una intervención factible y a bajo coste, ayudando a reducir las tasas de mortalidad y morbilidad. Por otra parte, encontramos una gran cantidad de beneficios que obtienen las madres practicando dicho método, y más si éstas padecen patologías como la depresión posparto (DPP) donde una de las características principales es el rechazo hacia su bebé, causando una fragmentación importante en el vínculo maternofilial. Por ello, en algunas instituciones sanitarias se emplea el MMC para reunir a las madres y sus bebés y mejorar sus respectivos estados de salud, siendo una de las intervenciones más destacadas.

Along the years, it has been shown that skin to skin contact giving Kangaroo mother care (MMC) has multiple benefits for infants, being a feasible, low-cost intervention, reducing mortality and morbidity. Therefore, the MMC has been defined as one of the most important interventions to bring together mothers and their babies, and improve their health outcomes.
