Prevención para el contagio de enfermería durante los cuidados de pacientes con Enfermedad de Virus Ébola en hospitales

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN: Los contagios en los profesionales sanitarios europeos y americanos por el Virus Ébola han demostrado que existe un escaso conocimiento sobre las enfermedades tropicales en occidente. Es importante abrir nuevas investigaciones sobre este virus ya que en la sociedad actual estos contagios no serán casos aislados y es imprescindible consensuar y mejorar las guías de práctica clínica. OBJETIVO: crear un documento de proyecto de guía de práctica clínica para la prevención del contagio de enfermería durante los cuidados de pacientes con la enfermedad del Virus Ébola. METODOLOGÍA: se realizó una revisión de la literatura existente sobre el virus Ébola para poder detectar las dificultades que causaban el contagio de enfermería durante los cuidados de los pacientes infectados. Se crearon las preguntas generales y específicas mediante el método PICO para su uso como punto de partida en la investigación para la futura guía de práctica clínica. NECESIDADES: Los protocolos y guías analizadas fueron consideradas difíciles de consultar y poco prácticas para su uso en hospitales. Es necesaria la realización de una futura guía de práctica clínica de fácil uso y basada en la prevención del contagio en enfermería ya que, como se ha comprobado en la literatura, es el grupo con más contacto con el paciente y por ello más vulnerable.

INTRODUCTION: The contagious Ebola virus treated by professional european and american healthcare systems has demonstrated the lack of knowledge surrounding tropical illnesses in the west. It is important to begin new research and investigation about this virus because in society today these infections will not be isolated cases and it is vital to reach a consensus and improve the guides for clinical practice. OBJECTIVE: To create a document which acts as a guide for clinical practice for the prevention of the infection spreading to nurses during their care of patients who have contracted the Ebola virus. 3 METHOD: It was achieved through a review of existing literature about the Ebola virus in order to be able to detect difficulties that caused the spread of contagion to nurses during their care of patients who have contracted the Ebola virus. The general and specific questions were created isung the PICO method as a way to start the research for the future guide to clinical practice. CONCLUSIONS: The protocols and guides analyzed were considered difficult to consult and not very practical for their use in hospitals. It is necessary to create a future guide for clinical practice that is easy to consult and based on the spread of contagion in nursing because, as has been stated in literature, it is a group with more patient contact and therefore more vulnerable.
