Programa de sensibilització per reduir l’estigma en Salut Mental entre els professionals d’infermeria de l’Hospital General de Granollers

Abstract

L’estigma en Salut Mental es pot definir com un conjunt d’atributs que taxen a les persones amb un diagnòstic d’aquestes característiques de diferent, basant-se en estereotips, prejudicis i creences errònies que porten a la seva discriminació. Aquest és un problema real que no només es troba entre la població general, sinó que també existeix entre els professionals d’infermeria, que comparteixen els mateixos estereotips i prejudicis. Aquests influeixen negativament alhora d’atendre les persones que pateixen una malaltia mental, repercutint així en la seva salut física i psíquica. Per aquesta raó, s’ha elaborat un programa de sensibilització dirigit als professionals d’infermeria de l’Hospital General de Granollers, amb l’objectiu de reduir l’estigma en Salut Mental entre aquest col·lectiu, per tal de que conseqüentment millori l’atenció d’aquestes persones. El programa pretén influir en les idees, percepcions, estereotips i prejudicis que tenen els professionals d’infermeria sobre les persones que pateixen un trastorn mental, a través de cinc activitats, on es treballaran coneixements, habilitats i actituds, que es desenvoluparan al llarg de sis mesos. Aquestes activitats utilitzaran les millors estratègies per fer front l’estigma, l’educació i el contacte

In mental health, stigma can be defined as a set of artists that judge people with that diagnosis of being different, these attributes are based on stereotypes, prejudice and wrong beliefs that takes to discrimination This is a real problem that cannot only be found among the general population but also amongst nursing professionals who share the same stereotypes and prejudice. These have a negative influence when attending people with mental illness can affect their mental and physic health. For this reason has been created an awareness program addressed to Granollers General Hospital nursing professionals with the aims of reducing stigma in mental health among that collective, in order to improve the assistance of these people. The program expects to have influence on the ideas, perceptions, stereotypes and prejudices that nursing professionals have about people who have a mental disorder, through five activities, in which will work knowledge, abilities and attitudes. These actions will be developed in the next six month. The best strategy will be used to confront stigma, education and contact in these activities.
