Diversitat cultural i lactància

Abstract

El tema principal d’aquest treball serà la lactància, els tipus que hi ha, els beneficis i inconvenients d’aquesta, però sobretot, el significat que aquesta pot tenir dins de diferents cultures, com són: la cultura africana, la musulmana, l’asiàtica i la catalana. Dins el treball, també apareixerà el paper que desenvolupa una llevadora tant a nivell hospitalari com a nivell de l’atenció primària a Catalunya. L’estudi es durà a terme mitjançant grups focals. Constarà d’un total de 8 grups, els quals estaran formats per un màxim de 16 persones amb unes característiques i uns requisits determinats.

Breastfeeding is the main topic of this matter research. It deals with its different kinds and their advantages and disadvantages, but mainly it discusses the meaning that breastfeeding has in different cultures, such as the African, the Asian, the Muslim and the Catalan ones. In my view, I think that not everybody knows the midwife’s role and that is the reason why this research analyses the role that this person carries out, either in a hospital or in an outpatients health centre in Catalonia. This research is based on the analysis of eight focal groups, which are made up of a maximum of sixteen people, Besides, I also consider their particular characteristics and requirements.
