La experiencia vivida de las enfermeras ante la muerte de un niño

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN: La muerte es un fenómeno natural que forma parte del propio proceso vital. La vivencia de la muerte varía según la edad de la persona fallecida, sus causas y las creencias de cada individuo; actualmente la muerte se vive de manera desadaptativa, además de estar cada vez más medicalizada. En este contexto, la muerte infantil es un hecho inesperado ya que los niños representan el futuro, por lo que provoca un gran impacto en el niño, los familiares y su entorno. En la actualidad, gran parte de los nacimientos y muertes se producen en el hospital. Esto hace que se creen relaciones estrechas entre los pacientes-familiares y las enfermeras, generándose en estas interrelaciones sentimientos y emociones, en muchas ocasiones, difíciles de gestionar. OBJETIVOS: explorar en profundidad la vivencia de las enfermeras ante la muerte de un niño. MATERIAL Y MÉTODO: estudio cualitativo fenomenológico interpretativo, a partir de grupos focales, constituido por enfermeras, de los hospitales Sant Joan de Déu, Corporació Sanitaria Parc Taulí y Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron, en unidades pediátricas. Se utilizarán las entrevistas grupales para la recolección de datos permitiendo a los investigadores recoger la información sobre las creencias, experiencias, opiniones y actitudes ante el fallecimiento de un niño Los datos serán grabados y posteriormente transcritos y analizados con la ayuda del soporte AnSWR para introducir los datos recopilados. INTRODUCTION: Death is a natural phenomenon that is part of the vital life process. The experience of death changes according to the age of the person who dies their reasons and the faith of each individual; nowadays death is experienced as a non-adaptive fact and increasingly medicalized. In this context, child death is an unexpected fact considering that children represent the future, producing a high impact on the child, the family and their surroundings. Nowadays, much of the births and deaths happen at the hospital. This creates close relationships between patient-family and nurses, generating, in last one, multitude of feelings and emotions, sometimes, difficult to manage. OBJECTIVES: explore profoundly nurses experience facing a child’s death. MATERIAL AND METHOD : qualitative interpretative phenomenological study, based on focus groups, formed by nurses, of Sant Joan de Déu, Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí and Hospital Universitari Vall d’Hebron hospitals, in paediatric units. Group interviews will be used to collect data allowing the researchers to collect information about faith, experiences, opinions and attitudes facing the death of a child. Data will be recorded and later transcribed and analysed with the support of AnSWR to enter the collected data.
