Vivencia de los padres con hijos prematuros ingresados en una UCI neonatal

Abstract

INTRODUCCIÓN : Se estima que cada año nacen en el mundo aproximadamente 15 millones de bebés prematuros. Estos niños, necesitan unos cuidados especiales y por ello, deberán permanecer en una UCIN hasta alcanzar la madurez para vivir en el medio extrauterino. Éste hecho, comporta un impacto negativo sobre la interacción entre padres e hijos, interrumpiendo el vínculo paterno-filial. Los cuidados centrados en la familia durante la hospitalización del prematuro serán esenciales, favoreciendo la reducción de estrés de los padres y mejorando el vínculo afectivo con su hijo. De esta manera, generará en éstos un sentimiento de confort, seguridad y confianza. OBJETIVO : Éste estudio pretende conocer la vivencia de los padres con hijos prematuros ingresados en la UCIN. MÉTODOS : Este trabajo se abordará a través de la investigación cualitativa de tipo descriptivo mediante la fenomenología. Ésta, permite describir la experiencia vivida y las percepciones con el fin de obtener un conocimiento holístico y profundo de la realidad. La población estudiada serán pacientes del Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol. Se realizarán entrevistas individuales semiestructuradas que serán grabadas con un sistema de audio a padres con niños ingresados en la UCIN. IMPLICACIÓN PARA LA PRÁCTICA, DOCENCIA E INVESTIGACIÓN : Debido a la escasez de estudios que incidan en la perspectiva del padre en el cuidado del prematuro (entendiendo padre como el varón de la pareja), se pretende que los profesionales sanitarios tomen consciencia de integrar de igual manera tanto al padre como a la madre durante el ingreso de su hijo en la UCIN. INTRODUCTION : It is estimated that approximately 15 million premature babies are born worldwide each year. These children need special care and therefore must remain in a neonatal ICU until they reach maturity to live in the external environment. This fact has a negative impact on the interaction between parents and children, disrupting the paternal bond. During the hospitalization of the premature baby, a special attention to the family will be essential. This special attention and care to the family is to focus in reducing parental stress and improving the emotional bond with the child. In this way, it will generate in them a feeling of comfort, security and confidence. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to know the experience of parents with premature children admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. METHODS: This work will be approached through descriptive qualitative research through phenomenology. This allows us to describe lived experience and perceptions in order to obtain a holistic and profound knowledge of reality. The population studied will be patients of the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol. Individual semi-structured interviews will be conducted, which will be audio-taped to parents with children admitted to the neonatal ICU. IMPLICATION FOR PRACTICE, TEACHING AND RESEARCH : Due to the shortage of studies that affect the perspective of the father in the care of prematurity (understanding father as the male of the couple), it is intended that health professionals become aware of integrating both the father and the mother equally during the admission of their child into the NICU.
