Una Odissea a la UCI: la Síndrome Post-UCI, un impacte en el pacient pediàtric i la seva família des del rol d’infermeria: estudi qualitatiu

Abstract

RESUM: El projecte es basa en un estudi fenomenològic per analitzar, des del rol infermer, l’impacte que té la Síndrome Post-UCI (PICS) en el pacient pediàtric, els seus familiars i el personal d’infermeria. Es pretén descriure la varietat de vivències, emocions i sentiments, així com els suports i mancances viscuts que es donen dins una UCI pediàtrica. La mostra de l’estudi s’extraurà de dos hospitals de la ciutat de Barcelona. El disseny es farà a partir d’una entrevista semiestructurada individual a 12 familiars, i d’una entrevista semiestructurada amb dos grups focals de cada hospital, amb 8 participants cadascun, a infermeres d’UCI pediàtrica. Les mostres seran intencionades amb criteris d’inclusió (com ara pares que hagin tingut un fill ingressat el qual hagi desenvolupat almenys una afectació PICS, o infermeres amb experiència contrastada) i criteris d’exclusió que ajudin a assolir el propòsit de l’estudi. Les entrevistes seguiran un guió orientatiu però donaran marge tant als participants com a la investigadora per poder aprofundir en temes rellevants. En el cas dels grups focals hi haurà una moderadora que faciliti la possibilitat d’expressió de tothom. La participació serà voluntària podent abandonar l’estudi si ho desitgen. Les dades obtingudes de la gravació es transcriuran i s’analitzaran, agrupant-les en conceptes similars, fins arribar a la saturació, per deduir-ne els temes i els resultats finals. L’estudi complirà amb els criteris de rigor, com ara la credibilitat donada pels participant en verificar la transcripció, i la triangulació de dades d’una investigadora externa. ABSTRACT This project is based on a phenomenological study to analyze, from the nursing role, the impact of Post-ICU Syndrome (PICS) has on pediatric patients, their relatives, and the nursing staff. The aim is to describe the variety of experiences, emotions and feeling, as well as the supports and deficiencies that can occur inside a pediatric ICU. The study sample will be drawn from two hospitals in the city of Barcelona. The design will be based on an individual semi-structured interview with 12 family members and a semi-structured interview with two focus groups from each hospital, with 8 participants each, to pediatric ICU nurses. The samples will be purposive with inclusion criteria (such as parents whose child had been admitted and has developed) at least one PICS condition, or nurses with proven experience) and exclusion criteria that will help to achieve the purpose of the study. The interviews will follow an indicative script but will allow both participants and the researcher to delve deeper into relevant topics. In the case of the focus groups, there will be a moderator to facilitate the possibility for everyone to express themselves. Participation will be voluntary, and participants will be able to leave the study if they wish to do so. The data obtained from the recording will be transcribed and analyzed, grouping them in similar concepts, until saturation, to conclude the themes and the final results. The study will meet with the criteria, the credibility given by the participants when verifying the transcription, and the triangulation of data by an external researcher.
