Teràpies d'estimulació funcional i cognitiva per a persones grans amb demència institucionalitzades en residències

Abstract

RESUM : Durant l’envelliment patim diferents patologies cròniques relacionades amb l’edat avançada. Multitud d’estudis confirmen que una de les principals afectacions en aquesta etapa de vida és el deteriorament cognitiu i funcional, la més coneguda com la demència en persones grans, i que com a conseqüència la majoria d’aquests individus els trobem institucionalitzats en residències. S’han trobat articles amb dades rellevants que ens parlen sobre l’existència de les anomenades; teràpies d’estimulació cognitiva i funcional, algunes d’elles són: la musicoteràpia, mindfulness, reminiscència, intervencions assistides amb animals, teràpies amb noves tecnologies i arterapia. En aquest estudi es coneixeran en profunditat les característiques de cada una d’elles, demostrant els beneficis i els impactes positius per aquest perfil de persones. El projecte exposa l’ importància d’implementar les teràpies d’estimulació cognitiva i funcional en pacients diagnosticats de demència en les residències, amb l’objectiu de potenciar la seva autonomia funcional i cognitiva.

ABSTRACT : As we get older, we suffer from various chronic pathologies related to advanced age. Numerous studies confirm that one of the main issues during this stage of life is cognitive and functional decline, being dementia the most usual in the elderly. This illness often results in new registrations in nursing homes. Some articles bring scientific evidence of the success of the treatments known as cognitive and functional stimulation therapies, which include: music therapy, mindfulness, reminiscence, animal-assisted interventions, therapies with new technologies, and art therapy. This study delves into the characteristics of each of these therapies, demonstrating their benefits and positive impacts for this group of individuals. The project emphasizes the importance of implementing cognitive and functional stimulation therapies in patients diagnosed with dementia in nursing homes, with the goal of enhancing their functional and cognitive autonomy.
