| es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Introduction Rotator cuff tendinopathy is one of the main causes of shoulder pain and dysfunction, particularly in overhead athletes. Conservative treatment based on therapeutic exercise is the first-line approach; however, pain in early stages may limit the use of high loads. Blood flow restriction (BFR) therapy allows muscular adaptations with low loads, making it a promising alternative.
•
Objective To determine the effectiveness of BFR therapy combined with strength training in reducing pain in overhead athletes with rotator cuff tendinopathy.
•
Material and Methods A randomized, controlled, single-blind clinical trial with 64 participants is proposed. Subjects will be allocated into two groups: intervention group (exercise + BFR) and control group (exercise only). Outcomes include pain (NPRS), strength, range of motion, shoulder function (DASH, SPADI, KJOC), and tendon thickness assessed by ultrasound.
•
Working Plan The study will be conducted from September 2026 to July 2027 in five phases: literature review, study planning, implementation, data analysis, and dissemination of results.
•
Discussion / Conclusion BFR combined with strength training is expected to produce greater improvements in pain, strength, and function compared to conventional exercise. It may be especially useful in early stages when high loads are not tolerated, although further standardized research is needed. | es_ES |
